Glory of Charity.
Charity has always held special significance in Indian culture and religion. It is not just considered a gift, but is considered a path to self-purification and ultimate peace. By donating, a feeling of compassion arises in the human heart and the balance of equality is maintained in the society.
According to the scriptures, "The giver is equal to God." Charity is considered fruitful for both the future and the soul. By donating, sins are destroyed, and virtue increases. Donating food, education, donating to old age homes or cow shelters, helping the sick — all these are the best deeds for humanity.
It is also said in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita:
"Yadāsnāsi yajoshnāsi yaddihosi dadāsi yat |
Yattapasyasi kaunteya tatkurūśva madarpanam ||"
That is – whatever you do, eat, sacrifice, donate or do penance – dedicate it all to Me.
Ultimately, donation is not just giving to anyone, but it is a sacred path to abandoning our ego, greed and ego. True donation is – where there is no expectation, where love and respect are hidden. Such donation gives meaning to life and gives peace to the soul.
